As Jesus weeps over Jerusalem, we gain a crucial insight into the Lord’s Sacred Heart. Filled with sorrow for the sins of our world, Christ reveals the depth of his love and points us to the Cross as the instrument of our salvation.
The Sacred Heart of Jesus beats with a shepherd’s love. For while we were still sinners, Christ died for us; and like the shepherd who leaves the 99 other sheep, the Lord looks for us when we stray.
This feast draws us into the awesome mystery of God’s unconditional love for us…inspiring us to embrace this love into our hearts and let it flow through our lives.
All of the readings today reveal the compassion of God that flows from the sacred heart of Christ. God’s mercy reaches out to us, invites us to reconcile, and urges us to turn away from our sins and toward the Lord. May we accept this amazing grace!
This feast day fosters both personal piety and a communal connection within the Church to Jesus Christ, our savior, redeemer, brother and friend. The Lord offers his heart for the salvation of the world as he gives his life on the Cross. May the love in his heart fill up what is lacking in ours!
The feast of the Sacred Heart of the Jesus celebrates the love of God for the whole world. Without limit or boundary, the Lord’s love for us is unconditional and offers us the opportunity to both receive and share this love with one another.
