In these last few days of Advent, I pray that you and your families and friends are blessed with the Lord’s love. I have a simple wish: if you find these podcasts helpful for your faith, please consider giving them as a Christmas “gift” to those you think would enjoy them. You remain in my daily prayers; God bless you all!
Jesus comments on the humble yet extravagant offering of the poor widow. She gives all that she has…and inspires us to consider how we will offer our lives for the Lord today.
The Lord reveals to the disciples that they are blessed in what they have seen and heard. The same is true for us: we have been blessed with the gift of faith…now it’s up to us to live it.
The Lord’s teaching in the Gospel of Luke can drive us to our knees as we count our blessings, and then lift us to new heights as we make something precious with what we’ve received. What will you do with your gift of life?
Your life is a gift. Freely given by God, this treasure is meant to be shared and lived with a passionate conviction. May gratitude fill our hearts as we offer our lives to the Lord!
If your life were to be considered as a single day, what time is it – morning, noon or night? Are you ready to step into eternity or is there something holding you back? God lavishes grace upon our world; our task is to be open to the generous gift of grace and receive it into our hearts.
The Lord describes us as Salt and Light, two things that while good in themselves are also precious when shared with others. With salt our food is tasty and preserved; with light we can see and find our way on the journey of life. May we share our lives with one another, giving glory to God for blessings we have received.
What if the gift of our lives was not measured by time or money, but rather by the sacrifice in our hearts? That’s the lesson the Lord reveals about the poor widow in the Gospel today.
The Christmas story touches our hearts and gets past our defenses. Why? Because babies evoke a loving response! God’s love story with humanity helps us see how the Lord – in taking on our human form – helps us to draw near through the gentleness of an infant. May the Christ child take us by the hand and lead us this Christmas to embrace our faith and give glory to God through the gift of our lives.

This painting held my attention at the Uffizi for several minutes, and I consider it one of the most beautiful I have ever seen. Enjoy!
