1st Reading – Jeremiah 20:10-13
Jeremiah hears the whisperings of those who seek his downfall.
The prophet puts his hope in the Lord.
Psalm 69:8-10,14,17,33-35
“Lord, in your great love, answer me.”
The Psalmist prays for God’s help in times of suffering.
2nd Reading – Romans 5:12-15
Through the sin of Adam, sin and death entered the world.
Through the death of Jesus on the cross, the grace of God overflows us all.
Gospel – Matthew 10:26-33
Christ tells the Twelve to “fear no one” and “do not be afraid.”
God, who knows even the hairs on our heads, invites us to follow the Lord Jesus with fervent faith.
Those who acknowledge Jesus before others will be acknowledged by him before God the Father.
