1st Reading – Isaiah 40:1-5,9-11
A voice cries out: In the desert prepare the way of the Lord!
Fear not, but speak comfort: Here is your God who comes with power!

From the Lord shall come kindness and truth, justice and peace.
2nd Reading – 2nd Peter 3:8-14
With the Lord, one day is like a thousand years, and a thousand years like one day.
The day of the Lord will come suddenly; thus we conduct ourselves in holiness and devotion, eager to be found without spot or blemish.
