The Lord teaches us that as our actions conform to God’s will we are drawn ever closer into Christ’s family. In other words, our relationships are strengthened the more we align our lives to Jesus Christ through our words and actions.
The Psalm response today serves as a powerful reminder about our fundamental orientation toward the Lord. Offering our lives, we strive to do God’s will with a joyful heart.
Jesus acknowledges us as part of his family when we do the will of our heavenly Father. May we take these words to heart as we live our faith and drawn near to God and one another.
When God said to King Solomon, “Ask something of me and I will give it to you,” Solomon offers a response that is profound…inviting us today to consider how we carry out the Lord’s plan for our lives as we serve others with God’s grace.
Jesus teaches in the Gospel today that all who do God’s will are part of his family. Through prayer, Scripture, sacraments and fellowship we become spiritually fruitful as we offer our lives to the Lord.
