As the 72 disciples return from their mission, they comment about their success over evil. May we follow their example as we call upon the name of Jesus for the strength we need to face our struggles.
Jesus drives out a demon and then teaches others how to keep evil away from their hearts. It’s a good reminder for us as well; we are called each day to be vigilant in the spiritual battle as we guard the sanctity of our souls.
The Lord teaches with authority and power in the Gospel today. Learning is not just for school; rather, we have lessons to learn throughout life. May we look to the challenges of today and engage our faith with confidence.
Just as Jesus sends the Twelve Apostles with his authority, so also the Lord sends us – empowered with his grace – to continue his mission in the world. We do it together; we trust in God; we are attentive to each opportunity; we let Christ work through us!
With authority and power Jesus teaches and drives out a demon in the Gospel today. As his followers, may we call upon the Lord for the guidance and courage we need to face our challenges with his grace.
Calling his disciples, the Lord appointed and sent Twelve to preach the Good News and drive out demons. Christ continues to call apostles today, inviting us to continue his mission on earth…with our eyes fixed on heaven.
