The leaders and scribes are powerless to respond to the healing miracle, as the boldness of Peter and John reveals their conviction to follow Jesus Christ in the face of persecution.
Peter, strengthened by his faith in Christ and filled with the Holy Spirit, boldly addresses the leaders and courageously claims that Jesus is the Lord.
Released from custody, Peter and John return to the disciples to recount what happened. As they pray, the Holy Spirit comes upon them while the ground shakes and they preach with boldness.
As the disciples moved from doubt to bold belief, we see the process that often accompanies our transformation in faith. We need time to understand, integrate and apply God’s grace to our lives; may this Easter season help us to proclaim the Good News with boldness!
