1st Reading – Malachi 1:14b-2:2b,8-10
The Lord chastises and curses the priests who failed to give glory to God.
They have become contemptible for not keeping the Lord’s ways.

Neither haughty nor proud, not busy with great things, the quiet and still soul hopes in the Lord.
2nd Reading – Thessalonians 2:7b-9,13

He then teaches that the greatest among them must be their servant.
