At the Passover meal with his disciples, Jesus inaugurates a new covenant in his Body and Blood that we might enter into Holy Communion with the Lord and one another.
As Judas gives in to temptation and sin, we pause to recognize that all of us have our own unique “soft targets” where we are particularly weak and easily tempted to put other things ahead of Jesus Christ.
While Jesus is at dinner at the home of Mary, Martha, and Lazarus, Mary anoints his feet with outrageously expensive perfume. May her lavish gift inspire us to be equally generous as we offer our lives for the Lord.
Following the miracle of raising Lazarus from the dead, the high priest Caiaphas prophesizes that “it is better that one man should die instead of the people” and reveals how the Lord saves us through his Passion and death on the Cross.
This is the sixth part of a six-week series about how we gently and lovingly share our faith with others. In this presentation, Fr. Andrew pulls together a pattern of life that empowers us to become real and approachable witnesses for Christ. In particular:
Cultivate our Spiritual life and grow closer to the Lord
Cultivate our relationships and grow closer to one another
Listen with a prayerful heart to the people in our lives
Discover the people, opportunities and resources that foster faith
Respond with conviction when others “open the door” in conversation
