1st Reading – Isaiah 55:1-3
- The Lord invites all who are hungry or thirsty to come freely and without cost.
- The benefits assured to David are now renewed for all with an everlasting covenant.
Psalm – 145:8-9,15-18
- “The hand of the Lord feeds us; he answers all our needs.”
- We look hopefully to the Lord who is gracious, merciful, compassionate, and just.
2nd Reading – Romans 8:35,37-39
- Nothing can separate us from the love of Christ!
- We conquer overwhelmingly through Jesus Christ our Lord.
Gospel – Matthew 14:13-21
- Jesus responds with pity upon the vast crowd, and he cures their sick.
- He then performs a feeding miracle after blessing five loaves and two fish.
