Jesus affirms his divinity as he acknowledges his relationship to his Heavenly Father. May we draw near to the Lord today, and configure our lives to the Son of God.
Jesus reproaches the villages that rejected his message of repentance, reminding us that our response to the Lord’s invitation has crucial consequences.
Jesus concludes his teaching to the Twelve before he sends them out on their mission, reminding them to make him the priority and center of their lives.
Jesus offers a parable when asked to clarify what we must do to enter eternal life. May we actively respond with compassion and mercy to the “neighbors” in our lives!

Continuing from the call of the Twelve and the explanation of their mission, Jesus now prepares his followers for the difficulties that are part of the path of discipleship.
Jesus gives instructions to the Twelve in preparation for their mission, reminding them that they have received the the truths of salvation without cost…and thus without cost they give them to others.
Jesus calls the Twelve Apostles by name and empowers them to carry out his earthly ministry. Their efforts, fortified by the Holy Spirit, would change the world and leave us a legacy of faith. May we continue this ministry today!
We glimpse the compassion of Christ as he pities the people who come to him with their suffering and pain. May the Lord’s mercy inspire us to run to him in our needs, as we share his kindness and love.
