The call of the twelve Apostles reveals the personal connection Jesus has with his disciples. Called by name (with their own unique strengths and weaknesses) the Lord will empower them to serve in his name. The Lord does the same for us!

The Gospel of Mark reveals the power of the healing ministry of Jesus. From the beginning the Church has continued this work; may our lives today be open to this ministry as we seek to be instruments of the Lord’s healing touch.
The Lord offers an example of ministry and then empowers the Apostles to do the same. Our Church today is not only founded on their work, but continues through our efforts to proclaim the Gospel in our lives today.
Having offered his personal example, the Lord now extends his authority to the Twelve Apostles so that they can continue his ministry. He calls them by name…just as he calls each one of us today.
The Gospel of Matthew offers a snap shot of the ministry of the Lord and helps us to focus on how our lives can participate in the ongoing mission of Jesus Christ.
