The Blessed Virgin Mary experienced the full range of human emotions while remaining faithful to God’s plan. May we draw near to her Immaculate Heart and allow her to lead us to her Son.
The feast of the Immaculate Heart of Mary offers us an opportunity to reflect on the extreme range of emotions she encountered, particularly sorrow. The Blessed Mother had many experiences to ponder in her heart; may her intercession lead us to the Cross of her Son.
The feast today offers us an insight into what happens to our hearts when we embrace God’s love. The intensity of Mary’s love in light of her “Yes!” to God indicates that the love of Christ will transform us in ways beyond our wildest imagination.
We read in the Gospel of Luke that “Mary kept all these things in her heart.” May her example inspire us to reflect on our faith in her Son as we put it into daily practice.
