- At the word of Elisha, Naaman plunges himself seven times in the Jordan river.
- Cleansed of his leprosy, Naaman desires to give a gift to Elisha in gratitude for his healing.
Psalm – 98:1-4
- “The Lord has revealed to the nations his saving power.”
- We joyfully sing, praising God for his justice, kindness, and faithfulness.
2nd Reading – 2nd Timothy 2:8-13
- We bear our sufferings with the strength of the unchained power of the word of God.
- “If we have died with him we shall also live with him; if we persevere we shall also reign with him.”
Gospel – Luke 17:11-19
- Ten lepers call out to Jesus for mercy, and the Lord heals them all with a word of command.
- One of them, a Samaritan, returns to Jesus to give thanks for his healing.
