Solemnity of All Saints Readings
When you think of saints, what comes to mind?
How about this: survivors!
Saints come in all shapes and forms – men & women, young & old, rich & poor, with a variety of abilities, challenges, and opportunities. Yet all of them share some common traits:
We celebrate the saints this Sunday, recognizing in their lives the hope we have in Jesus Christ. The Lord makes the path to heaven possible, and the saints have walked on the way before us. They made it! Not because they were perfect, but because they turned (and returned) to the Lord.
They are our inspiration. In our struggles, in our blessings, in our mistakes…we keep our eyes fixed on Jesus Christ. We have hope that the one who bridged the gap between heaven and earth will continue to support and guide us on our journey to eternal life.
Do you have favorite saints? Call upon them for help! Are you unfamiliar with the saints? Check out any of the links below and get started learning some more about the supernatural heroes who cheer us on to eternal victory.
Mary and all the Saints…PRAY FOR US!

Note: This post was first published October 27, 2015.

On this feast of the Rosary we recall the power of the Lord’s Prayer in the context of the ministry and life of Jesus. May this beautiful prayer draw us closer to the Lord through the intercession of his mother, Mary.

We call upon our Guardian Angels as we grow in grace and follow their example to help and serve one another.

The Bible names these three angels as particular instruments in God’s plan of salvation; may their presence inspire our faith as we follow Jesus Christ.

The Letter to the Ephesians beautifully illustrates how we are directed to live according to the manner of our call to follow Jesus Christ. Simply put, if we have been given gifts, then may we joyfully offer them to the Lord!
Mass Readings – Feast of St. Matthew, Apostle
Note: Today is my birthday, and I give thanks to God for the gift of my life!

The anguish of Mary at the foot of the Cross of Christ touches our human pain and loss in moments of suffering. Yet Mary’s faithfulness inspires us to endure these times of trial as we place our hope in her Son.

The Cross of Christ reveals justice, humility and love as Christ triumphs over sin and death for the salvation of the world. We adore you, O Christ, and we praise you! For by your Holy Cross you have redeemed the world.

As the Church celebrates the Birth of the Blessed Virgin Mary, we recognize that all of us – in great and small ways – have a part to play in salvation history. Following Mary’s example, will we say yes to the Lord today?

John the Baptist came to point others to Jesus, and his death inspires us to face our sufferings with fervent hope in Christ through His victory on the Cross.
