- The angel brings the prophet to the entrance of the temple, and the water that was flowing out becomes a great river.
- Wherever the river flows every living plant and animal flourishes and teems with life.

- “The waters of the river gladden the city of God, the holy dwelling of the Most High.”
- God is our refuge and strength, an ever present help in times of distress.
2nd Reading – 1st Corinthians 3:9c-11,16-17
- We are God’s building with Christ as the foundation.
- We are temples of God, and the Spirit of God dwells in us.
Gospel – John 2:13-22
- Seeing all the sellers and money changers in the temple area, Jesus makes a whip of cords and drives them all out.
- Speaking of his own body, Jesus says “destroy this temple and in three days I will raise it up.”
