Study, Pray, Serve: The Most Holy Trinity

Let’s explore some of the themes that we discover in the Mass Readings for the Solemnity of the Most Holy Trinity.

1st Reading – Proverbs 8:22-31

  • The wisdom of God was present before the act of creation, possessed by the Lord from the very beginning.
  • Beside him as a craftsman, God’s wisdom found delight in the human race.

Psalm – 8:4-9

  • “O Lord, our God, how wonderful your name in all the earth!”
  • God has crowned humanity with glory and honor, taking its place amidst the wonders of creation.

2nd Reading – Romans 5:1-5

  • Having been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our faith in Jesus Christ.
  • Our hope does not disappoint, because the love of God has been poured into our hearts through the Holy Spirit.

Gospel – John 16:12-15

  • Jesus promises his disciples that the Spirit of truth will guide and teach them.
  • Everything that Jesus has from the Father will be declared to his disciples.
