
Let’s explore some of the themes that we discover in the Mass Readings for the Solemnity of the Most Holy Trinity.
1st Reading – Proverbs 8:22-31
- The wisdom of God was present before the act of creation, possessed by the Lord from the very beginning.
- Beside him as a craftsman, God’s wisdom found delight in the human race.
Psalm – 8:4-9
- “O Lord, our God, how wonderful your name in all the earth!”
- God has crowned humanity with glory and honor, taking its place amidst the wonders of creation.
2nd Reading – Romans 5:1-5
- Having been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our faith in Jesus Christ.
- Our hope does not disappoint, because the love of God has been poured into our hearts through the Holy Spirit.
Gospel – John 16:12-15
- Jesus promises his disciples that the Spirit of truth will guide and teach them.
- Everything that Jesus has from the Father will be declared to his disciples.
