Let’s explore some of the themes that we find in the Mass readings for the 23rd Sunday of the Year.

  • Say to those whose hearts are frightened: be strong, fear not!
  • God comes to the people bringing healing and life to the world.

  • We glorify God who brings hope and healing to those in need, and thwarts the way of the wicked.

2nd Reading – James 2:1-5

  • We are charged to show no partiality to others based on wealth or appearance.
  • God chooses the poor in the world to be rich in faith and heirs of the kingdom.
