1st Reading – Jonah 3:1-5,10

- We ask the Lord to guide us in truth, as we remember God’s kindness and compassion.
2nd Reading – 1st Corinthians 7:29-31
- Paul exhorts the people that the present world is passing away.
- He encourages them to detach from earthly concerns and relationships.
Gospel – Mark 1:14-20
- After the arrest of John the Baptist, Jesus continues to preach about repentance, saying that the Kingdom of God is at hand.
- Jesus then calls Peter, Andrew, James and John by name; they immediately follow the Lord.
