Fr. Andrew’s Daily Mass Homily Podcast
Friday of the 26th Week of the Year (St. Jerome)
In the Book of Job we hear of God’s power and might; Luke’s Gospel shows Jesus chastising the towns that refused to accept his message. Our response today: to call upon the Lord to guide us with wisdom and strength!

Father, what does this mean actually?
“From infancy you have known Sacred Scripture.” What period of life here is he talking about as it cannot be “infancy.”
“Which (Sacred Scripture) are capable of giving you wisdom for salvation through faith in Jesus Christ.” Now my question on this one is this…
Some people read Scripture then come to Christ. Yet, others never read the Bible yet they still have faith in Christ. Maybe they know enough that He died on the Cross to save us from our sins, but that is about it. So if they do not read Scripture, then how can they have the wisdom they need for salvation? Thank you for answering and God Bless, SR

Without the Scriptures people can still come to know and love Jesus, even if it is somewhat limited. The more one reflects upon the Word of God the deeper one can appreciate the love God has for us.
